Wanda Maximoff has a lot on her shoulders. Between altering reality with Chaos Magic, grieving the loss of her mother, and trying to keep up with her speedy brother Pietro (Quicksilver), it’s no wonder she spends a great deal of time deep in thought.
When she’s not musing to herself, though, Wanda can often be seen exercising a skill that helps all of us in life: consulting resources to overcome challenges.
In the Marvel Comics Collection of Scarlet Witch tales, Wanda travels all over the world to find out who broke witchcraft. She uses her connections to get the information she needs and to find safe passage along a dangerous journey.
One of her only constant companions in this story is Agatha Harkness, who helps shepherd Wanda along the path known as the Witches’ Road. Wanda draws from Agatha’s knowledge in order to use her powers wisely and stay alive in the face of mortal peril.
Think about someone who has been there for you in your life and career as a solid, unshakeable presence. When was the last time you reached out to that person and asked for help, or simply said hi?
If you don’t have any psychic powers handy to beam a message to them, a phone call or text will do just fine. Scarlet Witch would approve.
